TheWorkForum
- as the core of the project -
invites internationally working professional dancers, choreographers and
artists of other genres, who deal with Butoh or show a similar intensity
in their work.
This artistic work exchange gives
the unique opportunity to experience comparatively all these different
working methods and interpretations of Butoh and Butoh-like styles
Beside the joint exchange training
the aim of this project is a choreographic and scenic work concerning "what's
up in the next millennium? - Hope and fear of the future".
The WorkshopCamp
of Ex...it! '99 offers
for a long future time the unique opportunity to experience comparatively
and intermetly the different approach to the Japanese Butoh-dance by Western
and Japanese artists.
For about 30 interested participants
there will be the chance to get a completely new view on the variety of
Butoh inspired art by practising many different workstyles and training
methods.
In the first three days there will
be a training-course for several hours a day, where the WorkForum artists
will teach their interpretation of Butoh or their Butoh-like style.
In the remaining days the new found
skills will be assimilated in choreography and stage work for a final performance.
